Raze destroys one land and asks you to sacrifice another — a one-mana sorcery that trades two lands for one, netting a permanent deficit only if you're ahead on mana. Outside of very specific landfall or sacrifice synergies, the cost is too steep to run it blind.

In Commander, Raze is a fringe inclusion at best — the 99-card singleton format punishes symmetrical land destruction and rewards efficient, targeted answers, so paying a land to kill a land rarely advances your game plan unless you're built around Zuran Orb recursion or landfall triggers. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but no reason to run it over Strip Mine or Wasteland. Pauper is the one format where Raze occasionally surfaces, slotting into aggressive red builds that want to slow a specific opponent's mana while staying ahead on board.

Price Context
Current price
$0.52 bulk tier
At $0.52, Raze sits firmly in bulk territory. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to climb, and you should treat it as a throw-in rather than a deliberate pickup.
