Rafiq of the Many card art
Rafiq of the Many turns any equipped or enchanted creature into a one-shot threat — exalted plus built-in double strike means a single Eldrazi Conscription ends the game on contact. The cost is that you're all-in on the combat step, and a single removal spell at the wrong moment collapses the whole gameplan.

Galea, Kindler of Hope plays Rafiq of the Many because both cards want the same board state: one heavily suited creature swinging alone. Galea's ability to cast Auras off the top of the library accelerates that setup, and Rafiq's exalted trigger stacks on top to push combat damage into kill range without needing additional pieces.

Commander is where Rafiq of the Many does its best work, either as the general himself or as a redundant exalted threat in the 99 of any Bant Auras deck. In Legacy and Vintage, the four-mana cost is steep against decks that end games on turns one through three, and there's no shell that wants a combat-step win condition badly enough to justify the slot. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander sixty-card-variant format where Rafiq of the Many could theoretically function, but the format's speed and signature spell restrictions make him a fringe pick at best.
