Mistbind Clique lands as a 4/4 flash flier that taps down every land an opponent controls until your next turn — a full mana denial hit wrapped in a Faerie body. The champion cost is real, but in Faerie-heavy builds like Inalla, Archmage Ritualist or Alela, Cunning Conqueror it's trivially paid, and the lockout effect is devastating enough to run regardless.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Alela, Cunning Conqueror
Alela, Cunning Conqueror generates Faerie tokens on opponents' turns, which means championing one to power out Mistbind Clique is painless — you're spending a token you just made to shut an opponent completely out of their next turn.

Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor
Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor cares about every Faerie that dies, so championing a Faerie to enable Mistbind Clique draws a card and drains a life — turning a cost into a bonus.

Obyra, Dreaming Duelist
Obyra, Dreaming Duelist pings opponents whenever a Faerie enters on their turn, and Mistbind Clique's flash timing means you're dealing damage and locking mana in the same move.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Mistbind Clique had a genuine competitive run in Legacy and Modern Faerie lists, where flash + mana denial on an opponent's upstep could flatly end games — Modern has since outpaced it, but Legacy still supports the shell. In Commander, the effect scales differently: tapping one player's lands is less backbreaking in a four-player pod, but Faerie tribal lists use Mistbind Clique as a flash threat that doubles as interaction against a single threat player or combo attempt. Vintage has access to it but ignores it entirely — the format is too fast for a four-mana tempo play. It's not legal in Pioneer, Standard, or Pauper, so Commander and Legacy are the realistic homes.

Current price
$3.33 cheap tier
At $3.33, Mistbind Clique sits in the cheap tier — reasonable for a card that does this much in a Faerie build. It's a niche tribal payoff rather than a broad staple, so the price reflects exactly that: high demand within Faerie decks, minimal demand outside them.
