Mark of Eviction card art
Mark of Eviction bounces the enchanted creature to its owner's hand at the beginning of each upkeep — not just once, but every upkeep, making it a soft lock on any creature that can't shake the Aura. The catch is that any opponent can break the loop by simply not replaying the creature, so it punishes value-engine creatures more than threats that are happy sitting in hand; pair it with Wormfang Manta or similar enters-the-battlefield abusers and the "drawback" becomes the point.

oathbreaker

Commander is where Mark of Eviction finds its real home, slotting into Aura-synergy and flicker-adjacent strategies that want repeatable bounce triggers rather than a one-shot answer. In Legacy and Vintage it is technically legal but competes with instant-speed removal that actually solves problems, so it almost never sees play there. Modern has the same problem — a symmetrical, slow bounce effect on a one-mana Aura is simply outclassed. Mark of Eviction is a Commander card through and through, and even there it earns its slot only in dedicated engines rather than as generic interaction.

Price Context

Current price

$0.17 bulk tier

At $0.17, Mark of Eviction is deep bulk — the kind of card you grab as a throw-in or pull from a bargain bin without a second thought. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless a high-profile Commander deck pushes the engine into the spotlight.
