Maned Serval card art
Maned Serval is a 2/2 lifelink for two mana — clean, playable, unremarkable. It does exactly what a vanilla two-drop does and nothing more, which means it earns a slot only in decks that specifically care about cats, lifelink, or creature count.

Maned Serval is a bulk two-drop that sees meaningful play only in Pauper, where lifelink bodies at common can pull real weight in aggressive or lifegain synergy shells. In Commander, it competes against a deep pool of two-mana creatures that do significantly more on entry or in the graveyard, so it shows up almost exclusively in Arahbo, Roar of the World or Jetmir, Nexus of Revels cat-tribal builds where the creature type is the entire point. Legacy, Vintage, Modern, and Pioneer are non-starters — Maned Serval simply doesn't clear the power bar those formats demand.

Price Context

Current price

$0.11 bulk tier

At $0.11, Maned Serval is deep bulk — you're buying it by the playset for under fifty cents. Bulk commons don't appreciate, so there's no reason to stockpile; just pick up a copy if a cat-tribal list needs the body.
