Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold hands your entire board first strike and vigilance for two mana — an anthem effect that doubles as a land when you're done with the spell. Elsha, Threefold Master builds around noncreature spells and gets both sides of this card, making it one of the cleanest includes in that archetype.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Elsha, Threefold Master
Elsha, Threefold Master casts noncreature spells from the top of the library and rewards stacking them — Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold is a cheap instant-speed pump that leaves a land behind, hitting both sides of what Elsha wants to do.

General Ferrous Rokiric
General Ferrous Rokiric generates Golem tokens off multicolored spells, and Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold is exactly that: two colors, cheap, and a board-wide combat upgrade that makes every Golem a first-striking threat on attack.

Feather, the Redeemed
Feather, the Redeemed returns instants and sorceries that target your creatures back to hand each turn, and while Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold doesn't target, the land back half means running it here costs you nothing — you get the pump now and a land later.

Brion Stoutarm
Brion Stoutarm is a Boros deck that wants to stay ahead in combat long enough to close with fling effects, and Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold buying the whole board vigilance so you can swing and still block is exactly the tempo edge this commander needs.

Mabel, Heir to Cragflame
Mabel, Heir to Cragflame grows by dealing combat damage and cares about equipment and auras, but Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold earns its slot here as a cheap combat trick that keeps the board safe during the swing that levels Mabel up.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold does its best work — a two-mana instant that buffs the team and converts to a land in the late game is exactly the kind of flexible, low-floor card that Boros and multicolor aggro decks want filling out their curve. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; combat tricks and land-light enchantments don't compete in those formats. Modern is the one constructed format where it might occasionally see fringe play in token-based aggro shells, but the power ceiling is modest and it hasn't broken through. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander experience closely enough that the same analysis applies: cheap anthem plus land, strong in the right shell.

$0.48 bulk tier
At $0.48, Legion Leadership // Legion Stronghold is firmly bulk — pick it up without thinking. Double-faced cards with a land back tend to hold a small floor above pure bulk commons, so don't expect it to drop further, but don't expect upside either.
