Intuition fetches any three cards from your library at instant speed — the opponent picks one for your hand, and you put the other two exactly where you want them: the graveyard. At three mana, it's one of the most efficient tutor-plus-setup spells in the game, and Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator // Vial Smasher the Fierce lists running it at a 36% clip confirms the demand.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator // Vial Smasher the Fierce
Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator // Vial Smasher the Fierce is a Dimir-adjacent storm deck that wants specific pieces in the graveyard as much as in hand — Intuition finds three cards at once and guarantees you get at least one while binning the others exactly where reanimation or flashback lines need them.

Tameshi, Reality Architect
Tameshi, Reality Architect loops permanents in and out of the graveyard, so Intuition functions as both a tutor and a self-mill engine in the same cast — finding three key enchantments or lands and letting the opponent inadvertently set up your next Tameshi trigger.

Elsha of the Infinite
Elsha of the Infinite casts spells from the top of the library, so Intuition serves double duty: find a combo piece for your hand and stack the deck with the two leftovers going to the graveyard or setting up Elsha's next look.

The Master of Keys
The Master of Keys builds around artifacts and is hungry for specific pieces at specific moments — Intuition at instant speed lets you assemble a three-card cluster mid-combat or on an opponent's end step, then choose whichever one the game demands right now.

Noctis, Prince of Lucis
Noctis, Prince of Lucis runs a high density of equipments and creatures that interact with the graveyard, making Intuition a clean way to find a trio of combo-adjacent pieces and let the opponent's forced choice still leave two cards exactly where Noctis wants them.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is Intuition's natural home — singleton construction means the opponent's choice rarely matters when all three fetched cards are copies of the same effect or when the graveyard is a resource you actively want to fill. In Legacy, Intuition sees play in reanimator and Lands shells where the graveyard is the real engine, and the instant speed makes it usable at the end of the opponent's turn to set up a turn-three kill. Vintage permits it and it's fine there, but the raw power of unrestricted Demonic Tutor and friends means it rarely makes the final cut. Oathbreaker is legal and the singleton constraint makes it similarly potent as in Commander.

Budget Alternatives
Cheaper options that do most of the same work
Solve the Equation and Diabolic Tutor both get you one card for roughly two to three mana at sorcery speed — they won't fill your graveyard, but they cost under a dollar and find the piece you need most. If the graveyard-loading half is what you're after, Gifts Ungiven does the closest impression of Intuition at around $4, though its four-card split and opponent-picks-two structure changes the math on what you're guaranteed to receive.
Price Context
Current price
$303.84 premium tier
At $303.84, Intuition sits in the upper tier of Commander staples — a price driven by a single vintage printing and sustained demand across combo and graveyard strategies. It holds value well because nothing else in a legal format does exactly what Intuition does at instant speed for three mana, but at that price you are paying a steep premium for the elegance.
