Homarid Spawning Bed converts blue creatures you control into a flood of 1/1 Camarid tokens — but it sacrifices those creatures to do it, so the payoff has to justify the board wipe you're inflicting on yourself. Pair it with Mystic Reflection and the tokens entering become copies of whatever you name, which is the only context where the card graduates from novelty to engine.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Homarid Spawning Bed sees essentially zero competitive play in Legacy or Vintage — the cost-to-output ratio is too slow for those formats and blue has far better token generators. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there it occupies a narrow niche: token-quantity decks that can exploit entering-the-battlefield effects or need a critical mass of creatures for sacrifice synergies. Oathbreaker is legal but the same logic applies — you need a very specific shell to make the self-sacrifice clause feel like a feature rather than a bug.

No current pricing data is available for Homarid Spawning Bed, which itself tells you something — it moves infrequently and occupies a small corner of the market. Pick it up cheaply if the combo appeals to you, but don't expect meaningful price movement either direction given how narrow its playable shells are.
