Harrow puts two basic lands into play untapped — net zero mana spent, two landfall triggers fired — at the cost of sacrificing one land you already control. It's the gold standard for landfall decks, and Yuma, Proud Protector runs it in over 76% of builds for exactly that reason.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Yuma, Proud Protector
Harrow sacrifices a land and fetches two, which means Yuma, Proud Protector sees three landfall triggers from a single spell — one for the sac, two for the enters — fueling Warriors and turning a ramp spell into a board-state event.

Titania, Protector of Argoth
Titania, Protector of Argoth converts every land that hits the graveyard into a 5/3 Elemental, so Harrow's sacrifice clause is a feature, not a cost — one cast nets a creature and two untapped basics.

Hearthhull, the Worldseed
Hearthhull, the Worldseed wants land volume and landfall density simultaneously, and Harrow delivers both in one instant-speed package, making it nearly ubiquitous across Hearthhull, the Worldseed builds.

Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor
Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor grows and gains trample from landfall triggers, so Harrow's two-lands-at-once clause translates directly into a bigger, more dangerous commander on the same turn.

Titania, Nature's Force
Titania, Nature's Force creates Elemental tokens off forests entering the battlefield, so Harrow fetching two basics at instant speed is two free tokens — and that's before counting whatever ramp you actually needed it for.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Harrow does its best work: 100-card singleton means you're always running basics to find, landfall synergies are everywhere, and the instant speed lets you crack it on an opponent's end step before your untap. In Pauper, Harrow sees genuine play in landfall and ramp shells where a common that puts two basics into play untapped is simply efficient. Legacy and Vintage have access to Harrow but rarely need it — those formats move faster than a three-mana sorcery-speed-equivalent can support, even at instant speed. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's landfall ecosystem that Harrow slots right in for the same reasons.

$0.36 bulk tier
At $0.36, Harrow is bulk — pick it up without a second thought. It's been reprinted often enough to stay cheap, and there's no reason to expect that to change given how frequently it appears in precons and supplemental products.
