Hakim, Loreweaver lets you rebuy enchantments from your graveyard repeatedly, turning your discard pile into a second hand — the catch is that activating the return ability destroys all Auras on him first. Pair it with free-to-attach powerhouses like Treachery and the self-destruction clause becomes an engine rather than a drawback.

Commander is the only format where Hakim, Loreweaver earns serious consideration — the 99-card singleton environment rewards recursive value engines, and enchantment-heavy blue decks can loop Hakim's ability across a long game. Legacy and Vintage legality is technically there, but a five-mana 2/5 with a conditional recursion ability has no realistic place in those formats. Oathbreaker is the one other home worth mentioning: enchantment-heavy builds with a blue planeswalker can extract real repetition from Hakim over a compressed game.
