Grow from the Ashes

In Commander, Grow from the Ashes earns its slot in any green deck that hits five or more mana consistently — the kicker mode pulls two basics and turns one spell into nearly two land drops, which matters in games that go long. Pauper is where it sees the most competitive daylight outside of Commander, since common-legal ramp options are narrow and the flexibility of a one-or-two land fetch at instant-adjacent timing is genuinely scarce. In Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy it's outclassed by faster options like Three Visits, Nature's Lore, and Farseek that hit nonbasics and cost two mana — Grow from the Ashes doesn't make the cut there. Standard and Oathbreaker legality is largely academic; run it if the card pool demands it, otherwise better options exist in both.
