Ghostly Touch taps a creature or land at instant speed and untaps it during your upkeep, generating mana or pseudo-vigilance with no card investment beyond the enchantment itself. The catch is the two-mana setup and the one-turn delay — if the enchanted permanent dies before your upkeep, you've lost both the aura and the tempo.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Ghostly Touch is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no competitive play in the non-rotating formats — untap effects at this cost level face stiff competition from Pemmin's Aura and Freed from the Real, which do the same job on a repeatable activated basis. In Commander, Ghostly Touch finds its niche in tap-to-win engines: commanders like Arcanis the Omnipotent or Horseshoe Crab that untap themselves only care about the trigger firing every upkeep, not about activation cost. Outside dedicated untap synergy decks, it's too narrow to justify a slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.30 bulk tier
At $0.30, Ghostly Touch is firmly bulk — low enough that picking up copies costs nothing meaningful. Bulk enchantments with narrow applications rarely appreciate unless a new commander breaks the effect open, so buy it when you need it and don't stock up.
