Fylgja is a slow, incremental enchantment that accumulates healing counters over time and converts them into +1/+1 counters on a creature — meaningful only if you can abuse the counter-placement repeatedly or accelerate the trigger. The payoff is real in dedicated counter synergy decks, but the setup cost makes it a role-player, not a staple.

In Commander, Fylgja finds its best home in white-based lifegain or +1/+1 counter decks that can exploit repeated healing counter accumulation — think Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim or Dethrone-style grind strategies. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters: Fylgja is simply too slow and too low-impact for formats where the game ends before its payoff arrives.
