Frozen Solid permanently taps a creature and strips it of all abilities — a hard lock that answers gods, indestructible threats, and activated-ability engines in one card. Three mana as an aura is a real cost, and removal that hits the enchantment bounces the problem, but the effect is among the cleanest soft-removal available in blue.

In Commander, Frozen Solid occupies a narrow slot — blue decks that want to neutralize a commander or problematic utility creature without giving the opponent a fresh card from exile effects. It's weakest in pods full of enchantment removal, which is common. In Pauper, it's a legitimate control tool; the format's removal suite is constrained and locking an opponent's best creature at common rarity is genuinely impactful. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient answers, so Frozen Solid never sees play there. The card is cleanest in Pauper and in Commander decks helmed by Zur the Enchanter or similar commanders that can tutor and deploy it for free.
