Frostling trades itself for any target creature at instant speed — one mana, one card, one kill, no questions asked. The cost is real: you're down a card and a body, so it earns its slot only in decks that profit from both the sacrifice and the death trigger, like Kykar, Wind's Fury, which turns the Spirit token into a red mana and then recycles it.

In Commander, Frostling is a fringe inclusion — most red decks want repeatable removal or bodies that do more than trade one-for-one, but sacrifice-matters shells that generate tokens and want cheap fodder will find it serviceable. In Pauper it's outclassed by essentially every other one-mana red removal spell at common, so it sees no real play there. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters; the bar for one-mana creatures in those formats is far beyond what Frostling offers. The honest summary: Frostling is a Commander-only card, and even there it's a narrow fit.

Pricing data isn't available for Frostling at the moment, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a current quote. Given that it's a low-demand common with niche applications, it almost certainly sits at bulk pricing — likely a dime or less.
