Foul-Tongue Invocation forces an opponent to sacrifice a creature and, if you revealed a Dragon to cast it, gains you 4 life — removal plus life cushion on one card for three mana. Outside Dragon tribal, the life gain clause is dead text, and a three-mana sorcery-speed edict is too slow to compete with better removal.
Format Analysis

Foul-Tongue Invocation is a Dragon tribal card first and a removal spell second. In Commander, it slots cleanly into any Dragon-heavy deck — Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm; The Ur-Dragon; Tiamat — where revealing a Dragon to the table is trivially easy and the 4 life actually matters over a long game. In Pauper it's legal but irrelevant; the format has no Dragon synergy infrastructure worth supporting. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's simply outclassed — Terminate, Fatal Push, and Heartless Act all cost less and hit harder without the tribal prerequisite.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Foul-Tongue Invocation is deep bulk — pick it up without thinking if you're building Dragon tribal. That price is a floor with nowhere meaningful to go; it's a niche tribal piece with no crossover appeal to push demand.
