Forgotten Creation card art
Forgotten Creation turns your upkeep into a free full-hand redraw — every turn, as long as you're willing to discard everything first. The cost is real, but in any deck that wants cards in the graveyard or punishes opponents for your draw triggers, that downside is the point; Temmet, Naktamun's Will in particular treats the discard-then-draw loop as pure fuel.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Temmet, Naktamun's Will

Temmet, Naktamun's Will

69.2% of decks · synergy 0.65

Temmet, Naktamun's Will generates tokens whenever you draw your second card each turn, so Forgotten Creation's full-hand redraw fires that trigger on nearly every card drawn — a single upkeep can flood the board with tokens.

02
Brallin, Skyshark RiderShabraz, the Skyshark

Brallin, Skyshark Rider // Shabraz, the Skyshark

34.7% of decks · synergy 0.34

Brallin, Skyshark Rider // Shabraz, the Skyshark rewards each discard with a +1/+1 counter on Brallin and one damage to each opponent, meaning Forgotten Creation's mass discard is a damage burst and a grow-your-team event rolled into a single upkeep.

03
The Locust God

The Locust God

30.6% of decks · synergy 0.29

The Locust God makes a 1/1 flying Insect for each card drawn, so Forgotten Creation turning a six-card hand into six draw triggers mid-upkeep is effectively a free swarm — exactly the mass-draw payoff the deck is built to exploit.

04
Captain N'ghathrod

Captain N'ghathrod

31.7% of decks · synergy 0.28

Captain N'ghathrod mills opponents whenever Horrors deal combat damage, and Forgotten Creation fills the graveyard on both sides of the equation — your discards stock your own yard while the redraws keep your hand loaded for the next attack.

05
Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

28.5% of decks · synergy 0.27

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge cares about the number of cards drawn each turn, so Forgotten Creation's full-hand redraw inflates that count dramatically and pushes the damage or token payoffs far beyond what a single Divination ever could.

Forgotten Creation is a Commander card through and through — the upkeep trigger is too slow and too dependent on a stocked hand to compete in faster constructed formats, but in a 100-card singleton game with multiple draw-payoff commanders it becomes a recurring engine that few decks want to tap out to remove. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's technically legal but sees essentially no play; a three-mana 3/3 that asks you to discard your hand on every upkeep is a liability when opponents can kill it before the first trigger resolves. Oathbreaker is the one exception worth noting — if your planeswalker or signature spell generates graveyard or draw synergies, Forgotten Creation can slot in for the same reasons it works in Commander.

Price Context

Current price

$0.23 bulk tier

At $0.23, Forgotten Creation is deep bulk — pick it up in any common-box or throw it in a cart as a filler card without a second thought. Bulk rares with this narrow a home rarely climb unless a new commander turns the discard-redraw loop into a broken engine, so treat it as a cheap role-player rather than a spec.
