Feat of Resistance card art
Feat of Resistance protects a creature and puts a +1/+1 counter on it for one white mana at instant speed — that's two effects for the price of one. Lyse Hext and any commander that cares about counters or combat tricks will reach for it; everyone else should run a cheaper protection spell if counters aren't part of the plan.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Lyse Hext

Lyse Hext

25.2% of decks · synergy 0.25

Lyse Hext triggers off +1/+1 counters entering creatures, so Feat of Resistance does double duty — it blanks a removal spell and advances the counter-stacking engine on the same activation.

02
Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon

Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon

20.9% of decks · synergy 0.19

Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon wants to attack with a buffed creature to generate Gnome tokens, and Feat of Resistance keeps the key attacker alive through blockers or combat tricks while adding a counter that pushes the damage threshold.

03
Feather, the Redeemed

Feather, the Redeemed

18.4% of decks · synergy 0.17

Feather, the Redeemed returns instants that target your creatures, so Feat of Resistance comes back to hand every time you cast it — one copy effectively becomes a reusable protection and counter source for the rest of the game.

In Commander, Feat of Resistance earns its slot specifically in decks that care about +1/+1 counters — outside that context, Heroic Intervention or Teferi's Protection protect more for comparable cost. In Pauper it competes in white aggro and heroic shells where the counter matters for growing a threat while dodging removal. Modern and Pioneer have faster removal and more efficient protection options, so Feat of Resistance rarely makes the cut there outside of dedicated counter-synergy builds. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a one-drop that only touches one creature.

At $0.13, Feat of Resistance is bulk — pick up as many copies as you need without a second thought. Bulk commons with narrow applications don't climb, so don't expect the price to move.
