Favor of the Woods turns any enchanted creature into a regenerating blocker that gains you 3 life every time it stops an attacker — relevant stats for one mana. The problem is that one mana buys better auras in almost every shell, and a single removal spell removes both the enchantment and the protection you paid for.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Favor of the Woods is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but the only format where it sees any real play is Pauper, where the card pool is shallow enough that regeneration auras have marginal value in green aggro or stompy lists. In Commander, it competes with Rancor, Unbreakable Formation, and a dozen other protection pieces that don't vanish when the creature dies, which makes it a fringe include at best. Legacy and Vintage ignore it entirely — the formats move too fast for a defensive one-mana aura with no offensive upside to matter.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Favor of the Woods is deep bulk — a throwaway pickup if you're sleeving up a casual Pauper stompy list and need a regeneration effect right now. There's no price floor to speak of at this tier, and demand is low enough that it won't climb without a reprint or a breakout deck that probably isn't coming.
