Eerie Interference protects your entire board from a single targeted spell or ability for one mana at instant speed — permanents, spells on the stack, everything gets hexproof until end of turn. It's a narrow counterspell that trades flexibility for extreme efficiency, and in the right shell it overperforms its bulk price tag.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Eerie Interference fills the role of a cheap reactive piece that punishes opponents who try to blow out your board with a single removal spell — think Cyclonic Rift, Toxic Deluge, or a well-timed Imprisoned in the Moon on your commander. It doesn't stop board wipes that don't target, so its ceiling depends entirely on how removal-heavy your meta is. In competitive 1v1 formats like Legacy or Modern, it's too narrow: protection spells need to be efficient and flexible, and Eerie Interference can't match Teferi's Protection or even Dive Down for most use cases. Pioneer and Standard see occasional play in go-wide creature strategies where a single Settle the Wreckage effect would end the game, but dedicated slots are usually better spent on threats.

Price Context
Current price
$0.24 bulk tier
At $0.24, Eerie Interference is firmly bulk — the kind of card you throw in without thinking twice about the budget. Bulk rares rarely climb unless a format breakout happens, so treat this as a throw-in pickup rather than a hold.
