Eater of Days drops a 9/8 flying, trample body on turn two — then hands your opponents two free turns to punish you for it. The only shell where that drawback flips to an asset is The Beamtown Bullies, which donates it to an opponent so they eat the skipped turns instead; everywhere else, Overwhelming Splendor or any similar lock piece aside, you're paying an enormous tempo debt for a vanilla beatstick.

The Beamtown Bullies
The Beamtown Bullies exists to give opponents the worst creatures in Magic, and Eater of Days is the worst — a 9/8 that skips its new owner's next two turns, effectively locking one player out of the game for a full rotation.

Eater of Days is legal in Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Commander, but it sees essentially zero competitive play in any 60-card format — a four-mana 9/8 with a backbreaking drawback doesn't make the cut when fair threats are cheaper and unfair decks win before it matters. Commander is the only format where it has a real home, and even there the context is narrow: it's a Beamtown Bullies staple, full stop. Outside of donate strategies, Eater of Days is a novelty card that costs you two turns and wins you nothing.

$0.98 bulk tier
At $0.98, Eater of Days sits at bulk pricing, which is exactly right for a card with one legitimate home. Demand from Beamtown Bullies builds keeps it from bottoming out entirely, but don't expect it to climb — the appeal is too narrow and supply is not.
