Dwarven Blastminer card art
Dwarven Blastminer is a repeatable nonbasic land destroyer stapled to a Dwarf body, and the activation cost — discarding a card — is the only real friction. In Magda, Brazen Outlaw shells, Missy and similar tap-synergy builds, the Dwarf type alone earns the slot before the land destruction text even enters the conversation.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Magda, Brazen Outlaw

Magda, Brazen Outlaw

22.4% of decks · synergy 0.21

Dwarven Blastminer is a Dwarf, so every tap to blow up a land advances the treasure count toward Magda, Brazen Outlaw's tutor ability — you're dismantling opponents' mana base and charging your own engine at the same time.

02
Zo-Zu the Punisher

Zo-Zu the Punisher

22.0% of decks · synergy 0.21

Zo-Zu the Punisher taxes every land that enters, so Dwarven Blastminer's repeated destruction keeps opponents in a loop: rebuild and take damage, or fall further behind on mana.

oathbreaker

Commander is where Dwarven Blastminer does its best work — four opponents means four nonbasic-heavy mana bases to pick apart, and the Dwarf type slots cleanly into tribal synergies that generate card advantage to offset the discard cost. In Legacy and Vintage, dedicated land destruction is largely outpaced by faster disruption, and the discard requirement is a meaningful tempo loss in those formats. Oathbreaker is a viable home for the same reasons as Commander, though the smaller game size narrows the targets.

Price Context

Current price

$0.34 bulk tier

At $0.34, Dwarven Blastminer is firmly bulk — a negligible pickup for any Dwarf or land-destruction build. Bulk rare prices at this level tend to be stable rather than exciting, so grab copies for function, not financial upside.
