Drudge Spell lets you sacrifice enchantments to reanimate creatures from your graveyard as 1/1 black Zombie tokens, stapling a sacrifice outlet and reanimation engine onto a single permanent. The cost is real — you're burning enchantments for one creature each — but in decks already running disposable enchantments, that's fuel, not a drawback.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Drudge Spell is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and sees essentially zero competitive play in the latter two. In Commander, it occupies a narrow niche: enchantress shells or Golgari recursion decks that generate enough enchantment fodder to make the activation loop worthwhile. Outside of dedicated sacrifice or graveyard strategies, Drudge Spell asks too much and delivers too little — there are cleaner reanimation options at every mana cost. Its ceiling is a synergy piece in the right 99, not a format staple.

Price Context
Current price
$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Drudge Spell is firmly bulk, and there's no pressure driving that price upward. Pick it up if a specific deck wants it; don't expect the price to move.
