Dromoka's Command jams four relevant modes onto a two-mana instant — fight a creature, put a counter on yours, remove an enchantment, or make an opponent sacrifice one — and at worst you're picking the two that matter most in the moment. The floor is a cheap removal spell; the ceiling, especially in a counter-stacking shell alongside Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener, is a two-for-one that advances your board and dismantles theirs simultaneously.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener
Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener triggers off creatures with counters getting through, so Dromoka's Command pulling double duty — dropping a counter and forcing a fight — feeds the engine while clearing a blocker in a single cast.

Shalai and Hallar
Shalai and Hallar cares about putting counters on creatures, and Dromoka's Command's +1/+1 counter mode triggers Hallar's damage ping while still leaving three other modes available for board interaction.

Jared Carthalion, True Heir
Jared Carthalion, True Heir wants to accumulate counters and defend himself early, and Dromoka's Command answers both — counter mode feeds Jared's threshold while the fight or enchantment removal handles threats opponents develop.

Hamza, Guardian of Arashin
Hamza, Guardian of Arashin reduces costs for each creature you control with a counter, so every Dromoka's Command that drops a +1/+1 counter is also quietly discounting your next threat.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Dromoka's Command punches above its cost because the format's enchantment density is high and single-target removal needs to do more than one thing to justify a slot — this card reliably does two. Modern and Pioneer both have faster clocks, so the fight mode's value fluctuates with the creature matchup, but the enchantment sacrifice clause has always found targets in both formats given the prevalence of Leyline of the Void, Spreading Seas, and similar pieces. Legacy has better options at this cost, so Dromoka's Command rarely competes there. Overall, Commander is where it's most consistently worth the inclusion — four live modes against a table of three opponents is almost guaranteed every game.

$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Dromoka's Command is pure bulk — easy to pick up in any trade binder or as a throw-in. Flexible, multi-format playable two-mana spells at this price tend to stay cheap because supply from older print runs remains deep, so don't expect the number to move.
