Deep Reconnaissance fetches any basic land directly onto the battlefield, and its flashback means you get that effect twice from a single card slot. At three mana with a four-mana flashback, it's slower than Nature's Lore or Three Visits, but the two-for-one ceiling makes it a legitimate ramp spell in decks that want volume over speed.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Deep Reconnaissance actually earns a slot — the long game gives you time to cast it once early and flash it back mid-to-late game, turning one card into two land drops. In Legacy and Vintage it's strictly outclassed by Harrow, Nature's Lore, and fetchlands, and you'd never register it there. Oathbreaker's compressed game pace makes the flashback harder to exploit, but the card remains legal for budget builds that need basic-land density. Anywhere outside Commander, Deep Reconnaissance is too slow to compete.
