Daxos, Blessed by the Sun turns every creature entering your battlefield into a life payment — and every creature dying into another one — making him a passive life engine that runs without any activation cost. The real ceiling is Darien, King of Kjeldor: damage you take becomes Soldiers, Soldiers entering triggers Daxos, and suddenly your opponent's attacks are healing you faster than they're hurting you.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Darien, King of Kjeldor
Darien, King of Kjeldor converts damage into Soldier tokens, and every one of those tokens entering the battlefield triggers Daxos, Blessed by the Sun — the two create a feedback loop where getting hit replenishes your life total instead of depleting it.

Aerith Gainsborough
Aerith Gainsborough rewards life gain with card advantage and token generation, and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun supplies a steady stream of life triggers just from the normal flow of creatures entering and dying.

Amalia Benavides Aguirre
Amalia Benavides Aguirre explores whenever you gain life, and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun generates those life gain triggers on every creature enter and exit — the combination turns a wide board into a cascading explore engine.

Trelasarra, Moon Dancer
Trelasarra, Moon Dancer grows and scries whenever you gain life, so the constant low-value triggers from Daxos, Blessed by the Sun add up to a very large, very well-equipped commander over a long game.

Heliod, Sun-Crowned
Heliod, Sun-Crowned distributes +1/+1 counters on life gain triggers, and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun produces those triggers at a volume that quickly scales the whole board.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Daxos, Blessed by the Sun earns his keep — long games with high creature counts mean the life-gain triggers accumulate into a meaningful buffer, and the life-loss trigger on creature deaths doubles the value in attrition-heavy pods. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer he's too slow and too low-impact; a 2/2 for two with a passive life-gain ability doesn't threaten anything or protect itself. Legacy and Vintage have access to him but have no reason to run him — those formats move too fast for incremental life padding to matter. Oathbreaker can find a niche for him in a dedicated life-gain shell, but the 20 starting life total compresses the window where his advantage accumulates.
