Curse of Conformity card art
Curse of Conformity turns every creature on the board into a 2/2, which is either a symmetrical tax or a one-sided weapon depending on who benefits from a leveled field. The home run is Preston, the Vanisher, where every new token enters as a 2/2 illusion copy and the illusion trigger replaces itself — meaning your tokens are full-sized and opponents' finishers are not.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict
commander

oathbreaker

Curse of Conformity is a Commander card through and through — the politics, the token synergies, and the enchantment subthemes that reward it barely exist in Legacy or Vintage, where the format is too fast and too interaction-dense for a five-mana static effect to matter. In Commander, it hits the table as a sweeper substitute that doesn't actually sweep: opponents' Elesh Norns and Avenger of Zendikar tokens become 2/2s, while your tokens or enter-the-battlefield engines keep generating value at the new baseline. Oathbreaker can support it in the right shell, but the two-player dynamic makes the symmetry more dangerous — run it there only if your planeswalker generates tokens that don't care about power.

Price Context

Current price

$0.32 bulk tier

At $0.32, Curse of Conformity is deep bulk — easy to pick up in trade binders or throw into an order as filler. It has a narrow enough home that a reprint wouldn't move the needle, and the price is unlikely to climb without a breakout Commander deck putting it in the spotlight.
