Commander is where Bedevil earns its keep — the format is lousy with planeswalkers, Thran Dynamo-style mana rocks, and utility creatures, and Bedevil answers all three on the same card. In Modern and Pioneer, the competition is stiffer: Fatal Push and Terminate both cost less and cover most of the same ground, so Bedevil generally loses unless the meta is thick with planeswalkers.
