Beck // Call turns every creature entering the battlefield into a draw trigger — cast Beck on the turn your engine goes off and you draw your entire deck for two mana. The Locust God and Phelddagrif treat it as a must-run; everyone else should treat it as a two-mana "win the game" condition stapled to a late-game token finisher.

Phelddagrif
Phelddagrif hands hippos to opponents each activation, and Beck // Call converts every one of those gifted tokens into a card drawn for you — turning political generosity into a private draw engine that refills your hand faster than anyone at the table expects.

Commander is where Beck // Call lives and dies — the format's reliance on creature-based engines means Beck's draw trigger scales absurdly, and the Call half backstops games where Beck arrives too late to matter. In Legacy and Vintage it's a fringe option in token or Elf combo shells that can flood the board instantly, but dedicated draw spells do the job more reliably at those paces. Modern sees occasional play in creature-storm adjacents, though the two-color requirement limits the shells that can support it cleanly. Pioneer is legal but the card sees essentially no play there — the format lacks the density of cheap creature production that makes Beck worth a slot.

Current price
$0.49 bulk tier
At $0.49, Beck // Call is bulk in price only — it's one of the most powerful two-mana draw effects in Commander and has no business being this cheap. It holds value easily at this tier; any reprint would have to be wide to push it meaningfully lower.
