Auroral Procession card art
Auroral Procession doubles your land drops for the rest of the game — every land you play puts a second one onto the battlefield — and four mana is a reasonable ask for an effect that compounds every turn from the moment it resolves. Commanders like Shigeki, Jukai Visionary that want to flood the board with lands or Eshki Dragonclaw that need a high land count to enable activated abilities get disproportionate mileage out of it. This is the kind of enchantment that quietly wins games without drawing the immediate threat assessment a combo piece would.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Eshki Dragonclaw

Eshki Dragonclaw

29.8% of decks · synergy 0.26

Eshki Dragonclaw's damage-scaling abilities demand more lands in play than a normal curve provides, and Auroral Procession solves that problem by doubling every land drop from the mid-game onward. Running it in nearly 30% of Eshki builds is a signal, not an accident.

02
Kalamax, the Stormsire

Kalamax, the Stormsire

26.2% of decks · synergy 0.22

Kalamax, the Stormsire copies the first instant you cast each turn while tapped, and keeping it tapped requires attacking — which means you need resources to rebuild each cycle. Auroral Procession accelerates the mana base fast enough that you're not choosing between holding up interaction and developing your board.

03
Teval, Arbiter of Virtue

Teval, Arbiter of Virtue

19.0% of decks · synergy 0.15

Teval, Arbiter of Virtue rewards you for having a high permanent count, and every extra land Auroral Procession produces counts toward that total while also funding Teval's activated abilities. The enchantment does double duty here in a way few other cards can.

04
Ureni, the Song Unending

Ureni, the Song Unending

16.7% of decks · synergy 0.13

Ureni, the Song Unending scales on the number of lands and enchantments in play, so Auroral Procession feeds both halves of that equation simultaneously. It shows up in roughly 17% of Ureni lists precisely because it's structural overlap, not just ramp.

05
Rashmi, Eternities Crafter

Rashmi, Eternities Crafter

14.1% of decks · synergy 0.10

Rashmi, Eternities Crafter rewards casting spells on each opponent's turn, and the extra mana Auroral Procession generates lets you hold up interaction without sacrificing your own development. Having more lands than the curve demands means Rashmi's free spell trigger fires more often and at a higher mana value.

Auroral Procession is legal in every major constructed format, but its home is unambiguously Commander. Four mana for a non-interactive enchantment that doesn't affect the board immediately is too slow for Modern or Pioneer, where the game is often decided before this effect generates meaningful value. In Legacy and Vintage the card simply doesn't compete for a slot against faster and more exploitable land doubling effects. Commander is where the math works: you have more turns to compound the extra lands, more opponents to outpace, and enough synergistic commanders that the effect becomes backbreaking rather than incremental.

Price Context

Current price

$0.34 bulk tier

At $0.34, Auroral Procession is bulk — you're paying almost nothing for an effect that appears in tens of thousands of decks. Bulk rares with genuine synergy utility tend to stay cheap until a breakout deck spikes demand, so grab copies now rather than later if you're building into any of the land-matters archetypes where it shines.
