Arcane Sanctum card art
Arcane Sanctum enters tapped and produces white, blue, or black — three colors for the price of a tempo hit. In a format where tri-color commanders like Temmet, Naktamun's Will demand all three pips reliably, that tradeoff is worth taking.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Temmet, Naktamun's Will

Temmet, Naktamun's Will

74.5% of decks · synergy 0.20

Temmet, Naktamun's Will sits at the intersection of white, blue, and black, and Arcane Sanctum covers all three with a single land slot — 74% of Temmet builds run it for exactly that consistency.

02
Aminatou, Veil Piercer

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

71.3% of decks · synergy 0.17

Aminatou, Veil Piercer's Esper identity makes every three-color fixer mandatory, and Arcane Sanctum's unconditional access to white, blue, and black earns its spot in 71% of lists.

03
Inquisitor Greyfax

Inquisitor Greyfax

70.2% of decks · synergy 0.16

Inquisitor Greyfax runs a tight Esper mana base, and Arcane Sanctum is a reliable budget anchor that keeps all three colors online without competing with fetchlands or shocklands for budget.

04
Kamiz, Obscura Oculus

Kamiz, Obscura Oculus

66.7% of decks · synergy 0.13

Kamiz, Obscura Oculus demands blue and black early for connive triggers and white for support, so Arcane Sanctum's three-color coverage makes it a near-automatic inclusion in 67% of Kamiz builds.

05
Atraxa, Praetors' Voice

Atraxa, Praetors' Voice

28.5% of decks · synergy 0.07

Atraxa, Praetors' Voice stretches across four colors, and while Arcane Sanctum only hits three of them, white-blue-black covers the most color-intensive pips in a typical Atraxa list — roughly 28% of decks still run it as a budget anchor.

Arcane Sanctum is a Commander card through and through — the enter-tapped penalty is largely irrelevant in a 40-life multiplayer format where turn-one speed matters far less than long-game consistency. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but never played; those formats punish tapped lands brutally, and dual lands or fetchlands make Arcane Sanctum obsolete. Modern is the same story: the format's pace makes an unconditional tapped tri-land a liability. Arcane Sanctum's real home stays Commander and Oathbreaker, where three-color commanders need cheap, reliable access to all their pips and can afford the one-turn delay.

Price Context

Current price

$1.25 cheap tier

At $1.25, Arcane Sanctum sits firmly in the budget land tier — accessible enough to slot into any three-color build without a second thought. It won't appreciate meaningfully given the volume of reprints across Commander precons, but it also won't spike, so buying in now or later makes no real difference.
