Aminatou, Veil Piercer

Legendary Creature — Human Wizard

At the beginning of your upkeep, surveil 2. (Look at the top two cards of your library, then put any number of them into your graveyard and the rest on top of your library in any order.)
Each enchantment card in your hand has miracle. Its miracle cost is equal to its mana cost reduced by {4}. (You may cast a card for its miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn.)

Aminatou, Veil Piercer card art
Aminatou, Veil Piercer hits the board and immediately strips enchantments from every opponent's permanent — no targeting, no mana investment beyond the casting cost. Zur, Eternal Schemer runs it as free interaction stapled to a body, and the verdict is simple: a 4/3 flier that cleans the table of Auras and sagas on entry is worth four mana.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Zur, Eternal Schemer

Zur, Eternal Schemer

26.9% of decks · synergy 0.26

Zur, Eternal Schemer animates enchantments as creatures, so clearing opponents' Auras on entry with Aminatou, Veil Piercer protects that board state while advancing your own — it's removal and a threat in one slot.

02
The Master of Keys

The Master of Keys

18.5% of decks · synergy 0.17

The Master of Keys cares about enchantments moving and changing zones, and Aminatou, Veil Piercer's mass detach on ETB is exactly the kind of enchantment disruption that generates value in that engine.

03
Eriette, the Beguiler

Eriette, the Beguiler

16.7% of decks · synergy 0.15

Eriette, the Beguiler steals creatures with Auras, so Aminatou, Veil Piercer serves double duty — peeling opponents' enchantments while leaving Eriette's own stolen-creature Auras untouched on the permanents she controls.

Format Analysis

FormatVerdict
commander

oathbreaker

Commander is where Aminatou, Veil Piercer does real work — four-player tables mean the ETB trigger hits three opponents simultaneously, turning a single cast into a board-wide enchantment wipe that can strand combo pieces and cripple Aura-based strategies. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; the formats are too fast for a four-mana 4/3 whose effect doesn't immediately win the game. Oathbreaker is a reasonable home if your meta leans enchantment-heavy, though the smaller table reduces the ETB's ceiling. Outside of Commander, Aminatou, Veil Piercer is a cube curiosity at best.

Current price

$0.67 bulk tier

At $0.67, Aminatou, Veil Piercer is firmly bulk — cheap enough to throw into any enchantment-heavy build without hesitation. There's no reason to expect price movement on a card this replaceable outside its specific synergy homes.
