Arahbo, the First Fang is a repeatable bounce-and-recast engine that turns any Cat with an enters-the-battlefield trigger — including Whitemane Lion's own self-bounce — into an infinite loop waiting to happen. The predecessor, Arahbo, Roar of the World, gave Cats raw power; this version gives them a combo axis, and that shift is the whole reason to run it.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Arahbo, Roar of the World
Arahbo, Roar of the World is the most natural home for Arahbo, the First Fang — the original Arahbo's eminence pump means every Cat you bounce and replay enters as a serious threat, and the First Fang's life-payment loop turns otherwise fair Cats into repeatable value engines at instant speed.
Ajani, Nacatl Pariah
Ajani, Nacatl Pariah cares about Cats entering and leaving the battlefield, and Arahbo, the First Fang provides exactly the kind of recursive bounce loop that keeps those triggers firing every turn cycle without needing additional spell slots.

Rin and Seri, Inseparable
Rin and Seri, Inseparable generates tokens whenever you cast a Cat, so Arahbo, the First Fang's ability to let you recast the same Cat repeatedly translates directly into a token flood that Rin and Seri can then convert into a lethal drain or trample swing.

Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist
Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist rewards a wide Cat board and aggressive attacks, and Arahbo, the First Fang supplements that by keeping your best Cat in hand for redeployment whenever its ETB trigger is worth more than leaving it in play.

Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar
Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar protects your Cats from being targeted on your turn, and Arahbo, the First Fang's bounce ability means you can loop a Cat during your turn window under that protection umbrella — a minor but real redundancy in Cat-tribal shells that want both cards anyway.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Arahbo, the First Fang actually gets to do its job — Cat tribal has a dedicated fanbase, the 100-card singleton format rewards the card's ability to close out games through loops, and the life payment is negligible when you start at 40. In 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, it's legal but largely ignored; a three-mana 3/3 that bounces your own creatures only earns a slot if you're deliberately building around it, and those decks don't currently exist at a competitive level. Standard legality means a dedicated Cat-synergy build is theoretically possible, but the format's pace punishes slow engines. Treat Arahbo, the First Fang as a Commander card that happens to be legal elsewhere.
