Angelic Exaltation card art
Angelic Exaltation hands your lone attacker a power and toughness boost equal to the number of creatures you control — in a dedicated combat deck, that's lethal math by mid-game. The four-mana enchantment earns its slot in any build centered on Raiyuu, Storm's Edge, where a single swinging Samurai can reach double-digit power before you've taken a second combat step.

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge

42.4% of decks · synergy 0.42

Raiyuu, Storm's Edge triggers an additional combat phase each time a lone Samurai or Warrior attacks, and Angelic Exaltation punishes exactly that setup — one attacker becomes a board-wide pump that hits harder with every creature you've developed. The synergy rate of 42% in Raiyuu lists is the highest of any commander, and it's no accident.

02
Rafiq of the Many

Rafiq of the Many

35.8% of decks · synergy 0.35

Rafiq of the Many already turns a single attacker into a double-strike threat; Angelic Exaltation adds a scaling power bonus on top of that, meaning the math for commander damage closes out games a full turn faster. At 36% inclusion, it's a consensus piece in Rafiq lists that want one threat to do all the work.

Angelic Exaltation is a Commander card — that's where the design intent and the inclusion numbers both point. In a 100-card singleton format with wide creature boards and recurring combat steps, the enchantment scales to genuinely threatening levels; in a two-player 60-card format, your board rarely stays full enough between turns to make the bonus reliable. It's legal in Legacy, Vintage, Modern, and Pioneer, but sees no meaningful play in any of them — four mana for a conditional pump with no immediate board impact simply doesn't compete in those environments. Stick to Commander, and specifically to combat-focused builds.

$0.19 bulk tier

At $0.19, Angelic Exaltation is bulk — pick it out of a commons box and don't think twice about the cost. Bulk enchantments with narrow homes don't appreciate, so this is a buy-it-for-a-dime-now card, not a hold.
