Akroma's Will ends combat immediately — double strike, flying, lifelink, vigilance, and protection from all colors on every creature you control for four mana is a game-ending alpha strike or a total blowout against removal. It's one of the most efficient finishers in Commander, and the fact that you can cast it as a pure protection spell in a pinch makes it pull double duty.

Commander is where Akroma's Will was designed to live, and it shows — four mana for a combat-ending instant that also functions as a counterspell-proof protection spell is exactly the kind of haymaker that closes multiplayer games. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but you'll never see it outside of casual mana-intensive brews; the formats move too fast for a four-mana sorcery-speed effect with no immediate board presence. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's wide-board, combat-focused DNA that Akroma's Will performs similarly there, especially in white or Boros shells with an aggressive signature spell.
