The One Ring taps to draw cards equal to its burden counters, and Mind Over Matter discards one of those drawn cards to untap it immediately; each iteration adds a burden counter, so the draw count grows with every loop. The engine lives in mono-blue and blue-heavy artifact shells — Urza, Lord High Artificer and Emry, Lurker of the Loch both tutor or enable the pieces and turn the near-infinite mana into a same-turn win.

Prerequisites

02

Steps

  2. Activate Mind Over Matter by discarding a card, untapping The One Ring.
  3. Repeat.

Result

Near-infinite card draw; Infinite self-discard triggers; Infinite draw triggers; Infinite looting; Near-infinite untap of permanents you control; Near-infinite mana permanents you control can produce

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Dramatic Reversal on Isochron Scepter covers the untap role if Mind Over Matter is countered, though it requires mana-positive rocks rather than a discard outlet. Pair the loop with Thassa's Oracle or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries as the closer — drawing your library doesn't win without a payoff, and both resolve off the blue mana the rocks generate mid-loop.
