Metalworker taps to add two colorless per revealed artifact card; with four artifacts in hand, that's eight mana, enough to pay Urza's 6-cost activation and the 1-cost Swiftfoot Boots re-equip and still net mana each loop. Urza, Prince of Kroog clones Metalworker as a 1/1 Soldier, Swiftfoot Boots grants it haste and hexproof so it can tap immediately, and the new copy becomes the engine for the next iteration. White-blue artifact commanders — Urza, Lord High Artificer, Breya, Etherium Shaper splashing white, or Shorikai, Genesis Engine — all have the tutors and artifact density to find these pieces reliably.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have at least three artifact cards in hand.

02

Steps

  1. If needed, activate Swiftfoot Boots' equip ability by paying {1}, attaching it to Metalworker.
  2. Activate Metalworker by tapping it and revealing at least four artifact cards from your hand, adding at least eight {C}.
  3. Activate Urza by paying {6}, creating a token copy of Metalworker that is a 1/1 Soldier.
  4. Activate Swiftfoot Boots' equip ability by paying {1}, attaching it to the Metalworker token.
  5. Repeat from step 2 using the Metalworker token instead.
  6. Once you have infinite colorless mana, you may target any artifact you control to get infinite copies of them.

03

Result

Infinite colorless mana; Infinite copies of artifacts you control; Infinite creature tokens; Infinite ETB; Infinite creature copies of artifacts you control

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Swiftfoot Boots can be swapped for Lightning Greaves at zero equip cost, cutting the mana floor and making the loop tighter — Lightning Greaves is the strict upgrade here. Once mana is infinite, target any artifact you control with Urza's ability to flood the board with token copies; pair that with Disciple of the Vault or Reckless Fireweaver if the token army alone isn't closing fast enough.
