Priest of Fell Rites + Activated Sleeper + Righteous Valkyrie + Xenograft + Lightning Greaves

5-card combo · WUB

Verdict

Yes — this 5-card loop generates infinite ETB and lifegain triggers as long as the life total stays ahead of the three-life activation cost each cycle.

Priest of Fell Rites and Activated Sleeper bounce each other from graveyard to battlefield indefinitely; Lightning Greaves at zero equip cost grants haste and shroud to whichever creature just entered, keeping the chain moving. Righteous Valkyrie collects a lifegain trigger on every ETB, and with Xenograft naming Angel or Cleric to satisfy its creature-type requirements, the loop turns any payoff that cares about lifegain or death triggers into a table win. This is a Giada, Font of Hope or Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim shell card — the life buffer those commanders build is exactly the fuel the loop burns.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Your life total is at least fifty. "Angel" or "Cleric" chosen with Xenograft.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Priest of Fell Rites.
  2. Activate Priest of Fell Rites by paying three life, tapping and sacrificing it, returning Activated Sleeper from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Priest of Fell Rites.
  3. When Activated Sleeper enters the battlefield, Righteous Valkyrie's first ability triggers, causing you to gain life equal to Activated Sleeper's toughness.
  4. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Activated Sleeper.
  5. Activate Activated Sleeper by paying three life, tapping and sacrificing it, returning Priest of Fell Rites from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  6. When Priest of Fell Rites enters the battlefield, Righteous Valkyrie's first ability triggers, causing you to gain life equal to Priest of Fell Rites' toughness.
  7. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite death triggers; Infinite ETB; Infinite lifegain; Infinite lifegain triggers; Infinite LTB; Infinite sacrifice triggers

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Righteous Valkyrie is the hardest piece to replace since it has to offset the three-life cost per cycle; without it, the loop drains the pilot out. A tighter line exists if Activated Sleeper can copy a cheaper reanimator, but as written the five-piece assembly is the floor. Close with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to convert the infinite lifegain into a lethal drain — the engine loops forever, but nothing in these five cards actually kills the table.
