Patron of the Orochi untaps all Forests and green creatures when it taps; Lightning Greaves equips for free, giving Patron haste to tap immediately on re-entry; Temur Sabertooth bounces Patron back to hand for 1G so it can be recast for 6GG each loop. The threshold is tight — at least 7GGG from Forests and green creatures in play — but green ramp decks running Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, or a critical mass of mana dorks hit that ceiling comfortably.

Prerequisites

Forests and green creatures you control can tap to produce at least {7}{G}{G}{G}.

Steps

  1. Activate all Forests and all mana-producing green creatures you control by tapping them, adding at least {7}{G}{G}{G}.
  2. Activate Lightning Greaves' equip ability by paying {0}, attaching it to Patron of the Orochi.
  3. Activate Patron of the Orochi by tapping it, untapping all Forests and all green creatures.
  4. Activate Temur Sabertooth by paying {1}{G}, returning Patron of the Orochi to your hand.
  5. Cast Patron of the Orochi by paying {6}{G}{G}.
  6. Repeat.
  7. If Forests and/or green creatures you control can tap to produce at least {8}{G}{G}{G}, this combo nets infinite mana.

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Swiftfoot Boots replaces Lightning Greaves if haste sourced from an equipment is needed and the Greaves are unavailable, though the equip cost goes up to 1. Once mana goes infinite, Craterhoof Behemoth as a Temur Sabertooth bounce target or Walking Ballista as a mana sink closes the game; the engine alone doesn't win without a payoff.
