Temur Battlecrier reduces a historic artifact's cost to zero, letting Sol Ring tap for two colorless before each Words of Wind activation eats one to replace the draw with a forced bounce. Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain triggers on every historic cast, so each free artifact recast fuels another Words of Wind activation, and opponents' boards evaporate one permanent at a time. The combo sits in a Jhoira artifacts shell that already wants Sol Ring and free spells, so the only dedicated slots are Words of Wind and Temur Battlecrier.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have an artifact card in hand that can be cast for {0} due to Temur Battlecrier. You can use a historic creature to get infinite ETB and LTB triggers. If you do not use a creature, this combo will not produce those results.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Sol Ring by tapping it, adding {C}{C}.
  2. Activate Words of Wind by paying {1}.
  3. Cast an artifact by paying {0}.
  4. Jhoira triggers, causing each player to return a permanent they control from the battlefield to their hand due to Words of Wind, with you returning Sol Ring to your hand.
  5. Activate Words of Wind by paying {1}.
  6. Cast Sol Ring by paying {0}.
  7. Jhoira triggers, causing each player to return a permanent they control from the battlefield to their hand due to Words of Wind, with you returning the artifact cast in step 3 to your hand.
  8. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Return all permanents opponents control to their owner's hand; Mass Land Denial

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any zero-mana historic artifact substitutes for the bounce target in step 3 — Ornithopter or Memnite slots in cleanly if Sol Ring is answered before the loop closes. The mass land denial result makes this a soft lock even without a formal kill condition, but Aetherflux Reservoir converts the infinite storm count into lethal damage on the spot and is the cleaner closer.
