Muldrotha, the Gravetide + Displacer Kitten + Sol Ring + Sarcatog

4-card combo · UBRG

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop turns a single Sol Ring into infinite storm count and an infinitely large Sarcatog by resetting Muldrotha's once-per-turn artifact clause every cycle.

Muldrotha, the Gravetide lets Sol Ring be recast from the graveyard once per turn as an artifact spell; Sarcatog sacrifices it to grow, and casting it from the graveyard triggers Displacer Kitten, which blinks Muldrotha and resets the artifact permission. The loop is entirely self-contained — two colorless from Sol Ring pays the one to recast it, netting the growth trigger for free each iteration. The table sees a Muldrotha deck that wins through a combat step rather than a traditional combo closer.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You have not cast an artifact spell using Muldrotha this turn.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Sol Ring by tapping it, adding {C}{C}.
  2. Activate Sarcatog's second ability by sacrificing Sol Ring, giving Sarcatog +1/+1 until end of turn.
  3. Cast Sol Ring from your graveyard by paying {1}.
  4. Displacer Kitten triggers, blinking Muldrotha.
  5. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite LTB; Infinite ETB; Infinite storm count; Infinitely large creature until end of turn

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Any free or net-neutral artifact that Sarcatog can eat replaces Sol Ring if it's exiled — Mana Crypt or Mox Amber work the same way provided the mana covers the recasting cost. Swap Sarcatog for Aetherflux Reservoir if combat is unreliable; the infinite storm count kills the table without ever needing Sarcatog to connect.
