The engine alternates between Dark Ritual and Frantic Search as the spell that triggers Displacer Kitten, blinking Ardent Elementalist each cast to return whichever piece was just spent to hand. Frantic Search untaps the lands that paid for itself, Dark Ritual floats the black mana surplus, and every pass through the loop draws two cards and adds to storm count — the kind of loop that lands in Yeva, Nature's Herald or Kess, Dissident Mage storm shells.

Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Ardent Elementalist is the narrowest piece here — Mnemonic Wall does the same recursion job at higher mana cost, but Salvager of Secrets is the cleaner swap at the same four-mana rate. The loop builds near-infinite storm count but needs a closer; Grapeshot or Aetherflux Reservoir converts the count into kills, and Thassa's Oracle closes on the infinite draw side if the deck is already running a blue devotion shell.
