4-card combo · BGU

Verdict

Yes — this 4-card loop generates near-infinite mana and looting in any Sultai shell that can assemble its oddly specific parts.

Displacer Kitten blinks Greenwarden of Murasa every time an instant or sorcery resolves, and Greenwarden's ETB returns whichever half of the Dark Ritual and Frantic Search loop just hit the graveyard. Frantic Search untaps up to three lands to refund its own cost, while Dark Ritual covers the black mana gap — each spell triggers Displacer Kitten, resets Greenwarden, and puts the next piece back in hand.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

You control up to three lands that can tap to produce at least {U}.

02

Steps

  1. Cast Dark Ritual by paying {B}.
  2. Displacer Kitten triggers, blinking Greenwarden of Murasa.
  3. When Greenwarden of Murasa enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Frantic Search from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Resolve Dark Ritual, adding {B}{B}{B}.
  5. Activate up to three lands by tapping them, adding at least {U}.
  6. Cast Frantic Search by paying {2}{B}.
  7. Displacer Kitten triggers, blinking Greenwarden of Murasa.
  8. When Greenwarden of Murasa enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Dark Ritual from your graveyard to your hand.
  9. Resolve Frantic Search, causing you to loot twice and untap up to three lands.
  10. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite self-discard triggers; Near-infinite ETB; Infinite draw triggers; Infinite looting; Near-infinite storm count; Near-infinite LTB; Near-infinite mana lands you control can produce; Near-infinite magecraft triggers; Near-infinite black mana; Near-infinite untap of lands you control

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Greenwarden of Murasa is the hardest piece to replace; at six mana it is slow to land, so Sisay, Weatherlight Captain or creature tutors are the fastest lines into it. Any magecraft payoff — Archmage Emeritus draws the library, Aetherflux Reservoir closes the game — is the kill; the loop itself stops short of winning without a sink.
