Karn's Bastion proliferates and loads Cryptic Trilobite with two +1/+1 counters; Trilobite converts those counters into four colorless ability-activation mana, and Lost Jitte spends one charge counter to untap the Bastion and reset the loop. Kami of Whispered Hopes is the linchpin — it makes Cryptic Trilobite's mana output match or exceed the 4 needed to activate Karn's Bastion, which is why the loop collapses without it on the battlefield.

Infinite proliferate
Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider doubles counters placed and halves the setup threshold, but is not required. The infinite proliferate closes games through Walking Ballista already on the battlefield, a planeswalker ultimated on the same turn, or any poison counter sitting on opponents — the engine proliferates everything, so the kill condition is whatever counter-based threat was already in play.
