Karn's Bastion proliferates to stack Lost Jitte and Cryptic Trilobite simultaneously; Trilobite cashes two of its new +1/+1 counters for four restricted mana, and Lost Jitte spends a charge counter to untap the Bastion and reset the loop. The engine is colorless at its core but lives in green counter-based shells — Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and Ezuri, Claw of Progress are the natural homes.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Lost Jitte has at least one charge counter on it. Cryptic Trilobite has at least one +1/+1 counter on it.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Karn's Bastion by paying {4}, putting a charge counter on Lost Jitte and two +1/+1 counters on Cryptic Trilobite.
  2. Activate Cryptic Trilobite's first ability twice by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, adding {C}{C}{C}{C} that can only be spent to activate abilities.
  3. Activate Lost Jitte by removing a charge counter from it, untapping Karn's Bastion.
  4. Repeat.

03

Result

Infinite proliferate

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Ozolith, the Shattered Spire isn't listed as a combo piece but sits in the same shell to preserve counters across removal; if Cryptic Trilobite dies mid-loop, the chain collapses. The loop wins through whatever counters are already on board — poison counters close the game under Atraxa, experience counters snowball Ezuri, or Walking Ballista drains out the table once mana is freed from Trilobite's restriction.
