Verdict
Yes — this 4-card loop generates infinite proliferate triggers off Karn's Bastion with no mana required beyond the initial setup.

Karn's Bastion proliferates for 4 mana, but Lost Jitte refunds that cost by untapping it after each activation, while Cryptic Trilobite converts the two +1/+1 counters it gains into the four colorless needed to keep the loop running. Loading Zone is the glue that lets the pieces arrive together — without it, the combo is a slow-moving four-card assembly problem. This line lives in green proliferate shells built around commanders like Atraxa, Praetors' Voice or Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, where one infinite proliferate loop wins the game on the spot.
Recipe
How it works
01
Prerequisites
Lost Jitte has at least one charge counter on it. Cryptic Trilobite has at least one +1/+1 counter on it.
02
Steps
- Activate Karn's Bastion by paying
, putting a charge counter on Lost Jitte and two +1/+1 counters on Cryptic Trilobite.
- Activate Cryptic Trilobite's first ability twice by removing two +1/+1 counters from it, adding
that can only be spent to activate abilities.
- Activate Lost Jitte by removing a charge counter from it, untapping Karn's Bastion.
- Repeat.
03
Result
Infinite proliferate
Variations
Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines
Any permanent with existing counters becomes a kill condition the moment proliferate goes infinite — Darksteel Reactor wins immediately, Magistrate's Scepter locks the table, and planeswalkers hit their ultimates on the next trigger. If Loading Zone is removed before the loop fires, Congregation at Dawn or Green Sun's Zenith can assemble the creature pieces, but there is no cheaper replacement for the Bastion-Jitte pairing itself.
