Kinnan's static ability makes Birds of Paradise tap for two blue instead of one, meaning each activation nets one blue after Pemmin's Aura's untap cost of one blue is paid. The loop is soft-locked behind a creature enchantment, so Pemmin's Aura needs to survive a cleanup step — the whole thing comes apart at instant speed to any enchantment or creature removal.

Recipe

How it works

01

Prerequisites

Pemmin's Aura attached to Birds of Paradise.

02

Steps

  1. Activate Birds of Paradise by tapping it, adding two {U}{U}.
  2. Activate Pemmin's Aura's first ability by paying {U}, untapping Birds of Paradise.
  3. Repeat.
  4. Once you have infinite blue mana, you may repeat for infinite colored mana.

03

Result

Infinite colored mana

Variations

Cheaper, tighter, alternate lines

Freed from the Real is a direct swap for Pemmin's Aura — same untap cost, same vulnerability, slightly narrower in that it only untaps creatures, but it's an identical line. Once infinite blue mana is established, activate Kinnan's second ability repeatedly to dump the top of the library onto the battlefield — Kinnan is the kill as much as the engine.
