Zombie Mob enters as a potentially enormous creature, exiling your graveyard to set its power and toughness — but that cost is the problem, since Zombie tribal strategies depend on those dead creatures for recursion, value engines, and combo setups. A 10/10 for five mana sounds appealing until you realize you just hollowed out the engine that makes Zombie decks function.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Zombie Mob is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees essentially no competitive play in any of them. In Commander — its most plausible home — Zombie decks run on recursive loops and graveyard synergies that Zombie Mob actively dismantles every time it enters. Legacy and Vintage Zombie builds don't exist at a level where a five-mana vanilla threat earns a slot. The card is legal in Oathbreaker but the same logic applies: exiling your own graveyard for a statline is a bad trade in a format that rewards resource density.

Price Context
Current price
$0.19 bulk tier
At $0.19, Zombie Mob is firmly bulk — priced exactly where its playrate suggests it should be. There's no pressure driving it upward, and no realistic reprint or Commander precon spotlight that changes that picture.
