Wyll's Reversal redirects a spell targeting you to a new target — turning an opponent's removal or counterspell into your own weapon at instant speed. The cost is real: this only works in decks built around rolling dice, which makes it a near-auto-include in Wyll, Blade of Frontiers // Sword Coast Sailor builds and mostly irrelevant everywhere else.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Wyll, Blade of Frontiers // Sword Coast Sailor
Wyll's Reversal is in 95% of Wyll, Blade of Frontiers // Sword Coast Sailor decks for obvious reasons — the commander rolls a die whenever you cast an instant or sorcery, so a single Reversal both protects you and generates a die roll to trigger any payoffs already on board.

Mr. House, President and CEO
Mr. House, President and CEO runs Wyll's Reversal because every die roll is a servo or a Treasure, and a spell redirect that also advances your resource engine is exactly what a token-wide strategy wants at instant speed.

Delina, Wild Mage
Delina, Wild Mage's attack trigger rolls a die, so Wyll's Reversal slots in as both a protection piece and a way to generate extra rolls that might push past the 16–20 threshold for additional untap triggers.

Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients
Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients cares about dealing damage to itself via enrage triggers, and Wyll's Reversal pulls double duty as interaction that also feeds the dice-rolling synergies that often accompany Vrondiss builds.

Myra the Magnificent
Myra the Magnificent's spellslinger engine benefits from any instant that generates incidental value on the stack, and Wyll's Reversal's redirect effect fits cleanly into the spell-dense, response-heavy gameplan Myra decks run.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Wyll's Reversal is a Commander card through and through — the die-roll rider is essentially dead text outside of dedicated dice builds, and Commander is the format where those synergies are dense enough to justify a slot. Legacy and Vintage are technically legal, but three mana for a conditional redirect is far too slow and narrow to see play in either. Oathbreaker is the one other format where it could see fringe use, again only in a dice-matters shell. If you're not rolling dice, skip it entirely.

Pricing data for Wyll's Reversal isn't currently available through this page, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number. Given its narrow application — near-exclusive to dice-rolling Commander builds — expect it to sit in budget-bulk range unless a breakout combo pushes demand.
