Writ of Passage makes a creature with power 2 or less unblockable for a turn at flash speed, for a single blue mana — and then replaces itself with a card draw when that creature deals combat damage. The cantrip stapled to a combat trick is what elevates it: you're not spending a card, you're cycling through your deck while threatening lethal with a small evasive threat.

In Commander, Writ of Passage earns its slot exclusively in decks that want evasion on small creatures repeatedly — Yuriko and ninjutsu builds are the obvious home, where it doubles as a ninjutsu enabler and a cantrip. In Pauper, the combination of flash, unblockable, and card draw on a common is genuinely efficient, and it sees fringe use in faerie or tempo shells where staying up on cards while threatening damage matters. Legacy and Vintage have access to so many better free or near-free interaction pieces that Writ of Passage never competes, though it's technically legal in both. Pioneer and Standard players have no access to it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Writ of Passage is deep bulk — you're picking it out of a common box, not budgeting for it. It's unlikely to appreciate unless a high-profile Yuriko or ninjutsu deck pushes demand, and even then the ceiling on a common with narrow application is low.
